Welcome, relative. I am so glad you’re here.

At a time when we are called to remember our place as custodians and stewards of this living and breathing planet, I hope this space helps you find your way. The contemplative writing, visual essays, and community gatherings you’ll find here seek to connect the threads between sea, soil, stars, and story.

I am a contemplative practitioner, consulting astrologer, licensed acupuncturist, mother, and gardener in northwest Ohio. I’ve been blessed to collaborate with and work alongside some brilliant people and organizations, including Project Nia, the Chicago Freedom School, Cordella Press, Crime Victim Services, the Breath Liberation Society, United Plant Savers, and Sounds True.

As a life-long student of eco-feminism, cosmology, and metaphysics, I’ve been fortunate to learn from amazing wisdom keepers, including Dr. Qianzhi Jamie Wu, Dr. Nelson Song Luo, Dr. Shengyan Grace Tan, Dr. Yongxin Fan, Dr. Yaoping Violet Song, Dr. Sonia Tan, Kelly Surtees, Chris Brennan, Caroline Casey, Virginia Rosenberg; and, always, my ancestors, elders, children, and more than human kin.

The Wholly Earth Community

The Wholly Earth community is a place to engage in regular contemplative practice and embodiment programming throughout the year, including weekly circles, seasonal gatherings, and workshops. This shared space is intended to provide consistent support and encouragement as we continue to navigate the intersection of personal and collective transformation.

The membership will be hosted here on Subtack. When you sign up for the newsletter with a paid subscription, you’ll automatically become a member of the Wholly Earth community and receive news and updates. You can also sign up for free to browse my archive of essays, which includes several series on nature writing, breathwork, and acupuncture.

The membership also offers:

  • A safe and grounded space to slow down, nurture your nervous system, deepen your awareness, and cultivate your curiosity.

  • An opportunity to start or build a contemplative practice in a supportive community.

  • Additional wellness practices and metaphysical teachings to welcome the changing seasons.

  • Workshops focused on embodiment and spiritual ecology.

I have found the model of a generative or gift economy deeply supportive, including sliding-scale and payment-plan options that have allowed me to participate in transformative experiences. In this heart-centered spirit, I am pleased to offer this membership community via a sliding-scale structure. You can join starting at $5/month.

If you are unfamiliar with this model or unsure how to discern which price point aligns with your capacity, please refer to this resource by Alexis J. Cunningfolk and this resource by the Brooklyn Zen Center. If the sliding scale still feels out of your capacity, please reach out to me.

If you’d like to learn more about my work, you can listen to a few threads I’ve shared through the years with Sheree Mack, Rose Blakelock, and Jamee Pineda.

Your reciprocity, comments, shares, and paid subscriptions help keep this community project going. Thank you.

With gratitude,

Christian
