Embodiment is rooted in storytelling, and music is a storytelling technology that emerges from every culture. For as long as humans have been on this planet, we’ve found a way to carry on the resonance within the land and the heavens by making sounds through vocal and material experimentation. At the top of every newsletter, I share a song I’ve been listening to as an offering and ritual to express my gratitude for your presence here.
A song I’ve been listening to:
Dear relatives,
Today is a short, in-between letter coming to you from Jackson, TN. I am sitting at the kitchen island in a house that my family and I are staying in for the week. There is a glorious view of the woods, and I can see the sun slowly starting to rise above the horizon. As birds sing their songs of welcome, the frost on the ground becomes dewy and warm. Through the quiet of the early morning, I can hear everything awaken.
We mark the change between seasons by the Equinoxes and Solstices. Today we celebrate the Vernal Equinox in the northern hemisphere, where night and day are roughly the same length. In my ancestral teachings, the Sun is our Grandfather. As I write, Grandfather Sun is in the threshold between two signs, sitting at 29 degrees of Pisces. Soon, the Sun will begin a new cycle in the sign of Aries. This will coincide with the upcoming eclipse season, occurring on March 25 in the sign of Libra, and April 8 in the sign of Aries.
I’ve been reflecting on the notion of principles and how they function in our individual and collective consciousness. For example, there are astronomical truths about what occurs during an eclipse, and based on that data, we apply meaning. Over the next few weeks, we will experience both a Lunar and Solar eclipse. A Lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth obstructs the Sun’s light from reaching the moon. Solar eclipses happen when the Moon obstructs the Sun’s light from reaching Earth. All aspects considered, eclipses offer an opportunity for reflection and transformation. This eclipse season in particular will focus on themes related to identity and interrelatedness. It will also occur alongside a Mercury retrograde, also happening in Aries, which we will feel the effects of through May.
“We can’t do anything alone that’s worth it. Everything that is worthwhile is done with other people.” —Mariame Kaba
In honor of the equinox and eclipse season, I am offering pay-what-you-can wellness sessions. These 1:1 gatherings offer a gentle solution to help you work holistically with the current eclipse cycle for greater clarity and insight. Office hours are held on Mondays (the Moon’s Day) from March 25—April 22, which begins with the Full Moon in Libra and culminates with the Full Moon in Scorpio. If you’re feeling the intensity and uncertainty of the moment, and want support to help you navigate through it, I’d be honored to support you.
WHAT’S INCLUDED?
A pre-call questionnaire to help clarify your wellness-related inquiry
A 60-minute Zoom call with me to discuss your concerns and create a solution
Somatic techniques, seasonal wisdom, and key dates relevant to the eclipses
A follow-up email from me with health and wellness resources for additional support
A check-in two weeks after our call to ensure all of your concerns are addressed
There is so much to hold during this time of great change. As the tide shifts, I want you to know that you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Please reach out anytime if you have any questions, or if you would like to set up a complimentary consultation to ensure this will be a good fit.
I look forward to connecting with you here next week for the Lunar South Node Eclipse in Libra. Until then, take good care.
Equinox blessings to you and yours!
